Fill out the SmartCaution form directly with your agency. Return it signed using the prepaid envelope.
We welcome you from Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at 24 route des Acacias, 1227 Carouge.
Your file will be processed immediately. As soon as we receive your application for a guarantee and proof of payment, we draw up your certificate and send it to you by priority mail. Normally, you receive your certificate the next day.
The first year, the amount of the premium is calculated according to your moving date. The amount is between 25 CHF.- and 120 CHF.- This premium covers the tenant until December 31 of the current year. Each subsequent year, the tenant will need to pay an annual subscription (due for the whole year) fixed at 25 CHF.- + 5% of the sum covered. This premium must be paid in advance, before 1 January of the year concerned.
When you move, you must ensure that the agency returns the completed and signed deposit certificate to release the guarantee. You can also take out a new guarantee for your future residence. If your landlord has claims against you and you are unable to pay the sum requested, Generali may advance the amount due, which you will then have to repay in full. As such, remember to contact your liability insurer who could take care of the damages.
You can recover your cash at any time by subscribing the SmartCaution SA rental guarantee.
You can cancel your guarantee at any time and without charge. You just need to provide an equivalent guarantee to your landlord.
The insurer is Generali, Avenue Perdtemps 23, 1260 Nyon.

Generali responds as a single guarantor of all justified claims based on the lease contract (for residential premises) as designated in the deposit certificate. The benefit is limited to the amount of security indicated in the certificate.
The tenant (the insured) has the obligation to reimburse the amounts paid and to pay the expenses and interests in addition.
The tenant (the insured) is required to do everything in his or her power to avoid the landlord (the agency) being obliged to ask for the payment of the rental guarantee.
Tenants are policyholders and the insured ; landlords are the beneficiaries of the guarantee.
The beginning of the policy begins on the date indicated on the guarantee certificate. The end of the policy occurs according to the conditions defined in art. 10 of the General Conditions of Insurance.
Generali and SmartCaution SA process the data from the contract documents or the contract process and uses them to calculate the premium, to define the risk, to handle the cases that are entitled to benefits, to for statistical purposes. Both SmartCaution SA and Generali are authorized to transmit tenant data to third parties, such as co-insurers, reinsurers, authorities or third-party companies. This authorization is valid regardless of the conclusion of the contract. The bond application contains a clause whereby the lessee authorizes SmartCaution SA and Generali to process the data required for the examination and management of the contract. SmartCaution SA and Generali guarantee the confidentiality of the received information.
